Sonic the Hedgehog 4 delayed to Q4 2010, new trailer, iPhone details

by

SEGA has announced through their blog that Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I will be delayed to Q4 2010, as opposed to it’s original date of a Summertime window. They state that the delay is due to “Internal suggestions alongside fan feedback to make some new, positive changes to the game.”.

Along with the delay, is the announcement that the title will be arriving on the iPhone and iPod Touch based platforms with two exclusive levels that take advantage of their tilting functions that will not be in the Xbox Live Arcade, WiiWare and PlayStation Network releases. It should be noted that a port of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 to be released before Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I seems likely, as Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 have been great successes for the platforms.

There is no music from the actual game in this trailer. I’m still hoping they sort that out and compose proper tunes. Maybe the leak wasn’t that bad for the game, hopefully it will benefit from the extended development time.

Yeah, there is no reason for the music to sound like mid-90s quality sound cellphone tunes. What is this? A Nintendo game?!

I remember when SEGA sponsered my team and made GOOD Sonic games.

    Good time, good times.
