Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown release date, pricing and more revealed

SEGA have announced that Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown will be released as a downloadable title for PlayStation 3 on June 5th and Xbox 360 on June 6th. This long awaited release brings the latest version of the popular arcade game to home consoles, including a brand new training mode and tutorial and new items, stages, and two added characters — Taka-Arashi, who returns from Virtua Fighter 3, and Jean Kujo.

The core game, including alternate costumes for every character, will cost $14.99/ £9.99 / AUD $18.25 / €12.99 for PSN and 1,200 Microsoft Points for XBLA. In addition, a wealth of downloadable content will be available at the game’s launch, which includes character customization packs for all 19 fighters, which will be individuality priced at $4.99 / £3.59 / AUD $6.25 / €4.49 for PSN and 400 Microsoft Points for XBLA, consisting of 950 items in total. These can also be purchased together in one of two customization packs, which will consist of items for nine characters and ten characters, respectively. These will be priced at $14.99 / £9.99 / AUD $18.25 / €12.99 on PSN and 1,200 Microsoft Points on XBLA. It’s worth noting that all of these items are purely aesthetic and in no way affect gameplay or character balance.
