Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed Announced

April 30, 2012

SEGA has announced a sequel to 2010’s Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing titled Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed. While dropping the ‘SEGA’ portion of the title, the game will still feature a wide variety of SEGA franchises in addition to the Sonic the Hedgehog series, spanning from SEGA’s early years up until now. Franchises shown off include Skies of Acadia and Panzer Dragoon, with mention of others such as Golden Axe. The game’s main feature over its predecessor is the ability for player vehicles to transform from cars into both boats and planes mid-race, combining three separate physics engines into one game.

The game has been announced for XBox 360, PlayStation 3, Personal Computer, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo 3DS, and will be developed by Sumo Digital. It is set for a release in Autumn of 2012. Assets below include a launch trailer, a set of screenshots, and a preview by IGN including a developer video interview.

SEGA Tribute – Don’t Stop Me Now

March 5, 2011

I made this video back in 2007 or so, when I was first learning how to use video editing tools, and that is a little more than obvious. However, I feel my passion for the company and their games is very apparent and overrides most major complaints I have with it. I put a lot of love into this for no real reason other than a thank you to the thousands – Perhaps millions of great games SEGA has made that so much of us all over the world have loved through the years.

The song is “Don’t Stop Me Now” by the band Queen. After the jump is the list of games included in the video, along with the format they were recorded on in their correct order.

Classic SEGA Music: Sona Mi Areru Ec Sancitu and Anu Orta Veniya

December 20, 2010

With the first title released in 1995, the Panzer Dragoon series spans five games, three of them released on the Saturn, one on the Game Gear and the fifth on Microsoft’s Xbox. It is one of SEGA’s most regarded console series. The first two – the original and Zwei – and the fifth – Orta – are three-dimensional rail shooters (the fourth, Mini, attempts to emulate this in 2D). The third – Saga – is a role playing game, considered by many to be the best of all time. The series’ first three home console releases were created by Team Andromeda which, after SEGA’s internal restructure circa 2000, had some of its members move to the newly created Smilebit. Among other critical hits, this team was responsible for the latest iteration of the series. Today, we will take a look at Sona Mi Areru Ec Sancitu and Anu Orta Veniya, the theme songs from Panzer Dragoon Saga and Panzer Dragoon Orta respectively. (more…)
