SEGA Tribute – Don’t Stop Me Now

I made this video back in 2007 or so, when I was first learning how to use video editing tools, and that is a little more than obvious. However, I feel my passion for the company and their games is very apparent and overrides most major complaints I have with it. I put a lot of love into this for no real reason other than a thank you to the thousands – Perhaps millions of great games SEGA has made that so much of us all over the world have loved through the years.

The song is “Don’t Stop Me Now” by the band Queen. After the jump is the list of games included in the video, along with the format they were recorded on in their correct order.

Yu Suzuki: “SEGA will probably let me make Shenmue III”

During a panel at the Game Developers Conference, an atendee simply asked Yu Suzuki “when will Shenmue III be released?”. Suzuki noted he thinks SEGA will let him make the game and that it is only a matter of funding. There was also an interesting tidbit regarding the original game’s budget, thought to be of $70 million, now revealed as $47 million spread between development and marketing.

Classic SEGA Music: Sona Mi Areru Ec Sancitu and Anu Orta Veniya

With the first title released in 1995, the Panzer Dragoon series spans five games, three of them released on the Saturn, one on the Game Gear and the fifth on Microsoft’s Xbox. It is one of SEGA’s most regarded console series. The first two – the original and Zwei – and the fifth – Orta – are three-dimensional rail shooters (the fourth, Mini, attempts to emulate this in 2D). The third – Saga – is a role playing game, considered by many to be the best of all time. The series’ first three home console releases were created by Team Andromeda which, after SEGA’s internal restructure circa 2000, had some of its members move to the newly created Smilebit. Among other critical hits, this team was responsible for the latest iteration of the series. Today, we will take a look atΒ Sona Mi Areru Ec Sancitu and Anu Orta Veniya, the theme songs from Panzer Dragoon Saga and Panzer Dragoon Orta respectively. (more…)
